Service Description

Spend a Night Aboard the Argovia, Berthed on the Heritage Pontoon, in the heart of Brightlingsea Harbour, nestled among the Historic Sailing Smacks of Brightlingsea. Check in 4pm/Check out 11am. The Argovia comprises of one bedroom cabin and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people staying overnight. You will be met on arrival, where you will then be taken across the water to the Argovia by boat. Spend your time relaxing aboard the Argovia, where you will have all you need from kitchen facilities, which includes a gas hob, fridge, kettle and everything you need to prepare and cook a meal (other than the food itself!); a lounge/dining area with games, books and a TV; bedroom, consisting of a double bed and 3 singles; and WIFI; Or, use the Water Taxi tokens provided to go ashore and explore what else Brightlingsea has to offer on land! NB* Over the summer period (April-October) the Argovia is berthed on the heritage pontoon and utilises the water taxi to get to and from the shore. During the winter months (October-April) the Argovia is berthed in Waterside Marina with direct shore access.


Cancellation Policy

The skippers decision is final on all safety and operational matters. We may refuse boarding, alter the itinerary, or terminate the charter at any time if safety is compromised or this policy is breached. Moderate, responsible alcohol consumption is permitted at the skipper’s discretion. No intoxication: If a guest appears impaired or unfit to sail, boarding may be refused or the charter may be terminated without refund. Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. Possession or use will result in immediate termination and may be reported to authorities. Guests must behave respectfully towards crew, other guests, the vessel, and the marine environment. Abusive, aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour (including harassment, vandalism, or ignoring safety instructions) will result in refusal of service or immediate termination of the charter without refund. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. We reserve the right to cancel before departure or terminate during the charter due to: Unsafe weather/sea conditions or mechanical issues (force majeure). Safety concerns, bad behaviour, intoxication, or policy violations. If we cancel before departure for operational/safety reasons (and not due to guest misconduct), you may choose a reschedule (subject to availability) or a full refund of amounts paid. If we terminate during the charter for safety reasons unrelated to guest misconduct, we will offer a pro‑rated refund or reschedule (at our discretion). No refund is due if termination is caused by guest behaviour, intoxication, or violation of this policy. More than 14 days before departure: Full refund or free reschedule (subject to availability). Less than 7 days / no‑show / late arrival: No refund. Late Arrival & No‑Shows: Charters depart on time. Late arrival may shorten your trip or be treated as a no‑show with no refund. Guests are responsible for loss or damage caused by negligence or misconduct and may be charged for repairs, replacements, and excessive cleaning. The skipper may refuse participation if a condition poses a safety risk. Follow crew guidance for wildlife and protected areas. Sailing involves inherent risks. By booking, guests accept these risks and agree to indemnify the operator against claims arising from guest negligence or policy breaches. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Statutory rights remain unaffected. This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
